BECOME A CONTESTANT

To become a local participant leading to nationals in January 2026, you must meet the age criteria as shown below.  

• Miss America 18-28 – must be at least 18 and no older than 27 at the start of Miss Indiana week 2025 (about June 15, 2025).

• Miss America’s Teen 14-18 – must be 14 and no older than 18 at the start of Miss Indiana week 2025 (about June 15, 2025).

For All Ages you must ALSO meet these criteria:

• Be a United States citizen

• Be a female

• Be Single

• Have no legal dependents

• Must be a resident, or you must work or attend school in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan, Putnam or Shelby Counties in Indiana.

The first step is to become a Club America Member by registering at: Club Miss America and selecting "Miss Capital City" as the local competition. (The link will open in a new window/tab). Registering will allow you to participate in any or all local competitions in Indiana, but you must register for each local. The first time you register there will be a fee of $39.99. After that one-time fee you can bypass the payment and register for other locals. NOTE:  If a parent is completing the registration for a teen, YOU MUST REGISTER THE CONTESTANT'S NAME, NOT THE PARENT'S!

You must also create a SpotFund site for the American Heart Association - Go Red for Women Campaign. You are asked to raise $30 to compete in each local. It is easy to post these links to your social media pages to encourage friends to donate and support this great cause.

*Please note that 2026 is the correct year as that is the year you will compete at Miss America or Miss America’s Teen, if you should win the state title.
