Our Program

The Miss Capital City Scholarship Program is part of the Miss America Organization and has been an official preliminary to the Miss Indiana and Miss Indiana's Teen competitions since 2015.

If you are a you are a resident, work or attend school in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan, Putnam or Shelby counties in Indiana, and you are a young woman between the ages of 18 and 26, you may be eligible to compete for our Miss title. If you are age 13-18, you may be eligible for Miss Capital City’s Teen.

Our Directors

  • Karen Knotts

    Karen Frye Knotts is the Artist Concierge at The Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel. A Purdue graduate, she is a former Miss Purdue and Miss Indianapolis and served on the Miss Indianapolis Board of Directors. She has been with the Miss Capital City program since its inception in 2015.

  • Beth Hampshire

    Originally from Kendallville, Beth is a former director for the Miss Purdue University Scholarship Competition. She currently serves as the Controller for the City of Fishers and lives in Fishers with her husband and three children.

  • Marni Lemons

    Marni Lemons has worked in public relations and marketing communications in Indianapolis for many years. She is the newest member of the Miss Capital City family, joining the team this year, after serving for 12 years as the director of PR and social media for the Miss Indiana Scholarship Organization. She has appeared on Central Indiana stages for many years as a actress and singer and is married to Michael Lasley, Executive Artistic Director at Civic Theatre, located in Carmel.
